Paving-Integrated Solar Power Generation

Our “G3” program is exploring novel ways to significantly improve the energy density of solar solutions. Some of the progress we are making with this research is at a semiconductor level, and some of it by investigating novel approaches to cell integration techniques.

Solar Earth is “on the road” to expanding the deployment opportunities for solar energy systems at a minimum possible cost per watt.

Integrated Infrastructure Solar Solutions

At Solar Earth, we build hardened solar panels and associated systems for installation into paving integrated arrays. Solar panels that can withstand pedestrian, bicycle or automobile traffic demand a level of protection not typically found in paving integrated solutions. The hardware and electronic requirements for these systems are also significantly more stringent than conventionally encountered. We have developed, tested and re-developed several novel solutions:


Panels that can be glued to a concrete or asphalt substrate – existing infrastructure without modification.

Integrated EV Charging

Panels systems that are integrated with electric vehicle charging technology.


Hybrid panels that generate both thermal and electrical energy.


Panels that can be used for walkways or patios that include ice melting technology.


Vancouver Lab

Located in our downtown Vancouver office, we have a small lab that has allowed us to simulate, build, and test prototypes. The lab features a solar simulator that is equipped to customize cells and various electronic apparatus. This lab runs an environmental chamber, a laminator, and a full-scale solar simulator. The increase in facility size will allow us to begin manufacturing modules for North American pilot runs, as well as continue with our G3 research.

Chongqing Lab

SET Chongqing Lab was founded in February 2016 with the mission of researching and developing materials and processes for making modules suitable for solar road paving. The Chongqing Lab also develops and customizes solar road products at the modular level for contracted clients.

Smart Road System and Solutions


SET Beijing Lab is the newest addition to our R&D network. Our mission at the Beijing lab is to develop system-level expertise and solutions for contracted clients on their solar roadway applications. Beijing Lab is also researching and developing smart road technologies that will enable solar roads to support smart transportation and autonomous driving functions.
